Nostalgic rail travel in the heart of Ireland's vintage capital of Stradbally, Co. Laois
The Stradbally Woodland Railway was the first volunteer-run heritage railway in Ireland, having been established in 1969. We've been running regular steam services every Bank Holiday weekend and selected other running days during the year ever since.
Our next running days are Sunday 5th May and Monday 6th May 2019, operating between 12noon and 4pm. The trains are expected to be operated by our steam locomotive, No.2.
In the meantime, keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages for the latest updates.
Our Railway is located within the grounds of Stradbally Hall, Co.Laois (home of Electric Picnic) on the N80 Carlow/Portlaoise road and just a few minutes from Junction 16 Portlaoise on the M7 Motorway from Dublin and the South.
